About me

Compassionate Counselling for Children, Teenagers, Adults and Parent-Child Therapy.

BACP Registered Counsellor | Earls Colne
Working with clients across Colchester, Braintree, Halstead and surrounding areas.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, or concerns about a child or teenager. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone.

Often people reach out when something feels heavy, confusing, or hard to carry alone, even if they’re not quite sure where to begin.

I offer a calm and compassionate space where you can talk openly and feel genuinely heard. My approach is primarily person-centred, meaning therapy moves at your pace and focuses on what matters most to you.

I work with adults, children and teenagers experiencing challenges such as anxiety, low mood, school-related stress, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, neurodiversity (including ADHD and autism), and life transitions.

In addition to my adult counselling qualification, I have completed four years of specialist training in working therapeutically with children and young people. Parents are also welcome to get in touch if they would like guidance or support around their child or teenager.

Alongside person-centred counselling, I may draw on other approaches where helpful, including CBT-informed techniques, creative and expressive work, and trauma-informed practice. When working with younger children, I may use play, creative materials or sand tray work to help them express and process their feelings.

Sessions are available in person near Earls Colne for clients across Colchester, Braintree, Halstead and surrounding areas, or online.

Reaching out can feel like a big step. I offer a free 10-minute consultation so we can briefly talk through what’s been happening and see whether working together feels right for you.

You are very welcome to get in touch, even if you’re not sure where to start. Just complete the contact form on the website with a reference to Michele

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
