About me

I’m Michaela — I'm a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist.  I work with adults (solo or couples) in Launceston and online.

Life can get messy. One minute you’re fine, the next you’re lying awake at 3 a.m. replaying conversations from 2014. Work’s a grind, relationships feel strained, and you’re wondering when you last felt like you.

That’s where I come in. No judgement, no clipboard interrogation — just a space to unload what’s on your mind, hear yourself think, and figure out a way forward. Together, we’ll pick apart the knots and make room for something lighter.

Because talking helps. And honestly? It might help more than you think.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a counsellor, psychotherapist, and champion of the “no one’s life is one-size-fits-all” approach. My training? An Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling plus a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling — which basically means I’ve got plenty of tools to work with.

You’re unique. Your story’s unique. So our sessions will be too. I mix and match different approaches to fit you — your personality, your pace, your goals. Together, we’ll explore what’s on your mind, get clearer on what you actually want, and figure out how to get there.

Because therapy works best when it’s built around the person — not the other way round.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Drop me an email, text, or call and we’ll book a free 15-minute chat — phone or video, your choice.

It’s not a therapy session, just a quick “hello” to see if we click, answer your questions, and talk about how I work. You can tell me a bit about what’s going on for you, and we’ll see if it feels like a good fit before diving in.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My room in Launceston is in the centre of town. There are a number of car parks and roadside parking available, all within short walking distance.
