About me

I can offer a safe and confidential space in which we can explore whatever has brought you to counselling. Through this exploration we will look to gain an understanding of you and your relationships, which might enable you to make changes and as a result find ways to move forward which could lead to a more contented and satisfying life.

I am a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor. Whilst this means I specialise in open ended long term work, I can also offer short term counselling. I am a registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy(BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I work part-time at Basingstoke Counselling Service alongside my private practice. I continue to update my training on a regular basis.

I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help and take this step. I provide a warm, empathic and calm approach, in which you can be heard without judgement.

Situated in the Ascot area, I provide face to face, online and phone sessions. My therapy room is separate from the main house. It is quiet and private. There is a designated off street parking space for client use.

My experience working with clients has covered a wide range of issues, these include but are not limited to; anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, lack of self worth, loneliness, identity issues, relationship difficulties, and bereavement.

As well as my qualification in Psychodynamic therapy, I have trained in Person Centred therapy. This means my method of working takes into account every aspect of you. This could mean looking at your past, which might help us understand and give some clarity to what you are experiencing in the present. On the other hand it might be helpful to think about what is going on for you currently. I can provide the opportunity for you to be with a person where you can be seen, heard and valued unconditionally. Everything you feel and think can be thought about together, whatever is right for you will be the priority of our work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 5 Foundation Degree in Psychodynamic Counselling (Distinction).
  • Level 3 Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
