About me
Hello, I’m Michael, a Registered Psychotherapist with the BACP. I have an MSc in Counselling and Positive Psychology and a BSc in Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Counselling. I offer a supportive, confidential space where you can explore whatever is going on in your life without judgment.
My aim is to provide a safe space for all my clients, especially men, who have historically struggled to open up due to societal pressures to 'Man up' or to be told 'men don't cry'. In 2016 I was diagnosed with anxiety and found there was hardly any help specifically for men. I'm glad this is changing now; however, I am specialising in working with men.
I have worked with Mentel as a lead facilitator, offering men a safe space to discuss what is troubling them.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, or simply feel stuck. At other times, people come to counselling to better understand themselves or make meaningful changes in their lives.
I am here to help you feel heard, understood, and supported while we explore what is happening for you. Together we can work towards greater clarity, resilience, and a stronger sense of direction.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. I draw on evidence-based psychological and counselling approaches, integrating insights from positive psychology, which focuses on strengths, well-being, and personal growth.
In our sessions, we might explore:
- The patterns that are keeping you stuck
- The thoughts and beliefs affecting how you feel
- Emotional experiences that may be difficult to process alone
- Practical ways to build resilience, wellbeing, and self-understanding
- I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, respectful, and genuine.
- My role is not to judge or tell you what to do, but to help you understand yourself and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
