About me

Are you feeling stuck, discontent or unfulfilled?

Perhaps you're struggling at work, with family issues, or a current relationship, or noticing more long-standing difficulties. You might be experiencing stress or mental health symptoms such as anxiety or depression, and/or dealing with challenging life circumstances.

Whatever you are bringing, I can help you to feel better, and to start living a life which feels authentic and in line with your values and needs.

Latest psychotherapy research shows the quality of the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is key. My goal is to develop an honest, empathic and gently challenging therapeutic alliance in which you'll feel safe to express and explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear or judgement. Nothing is off the table.

I use Transactional Analysis (TA), a type of psychotherapy which offers a powerful psychological and practical model for facilitating self-understanding and lasting change. We'll work together towards your desired goals, holding them loosely as they may well change as you begin to better understand yourself and your needs.

TA therapy invites an open dialogue - I won't sit in front of you saying very little - and we'll work flexibly, at your pace, sometimes taking a pause to review progress and adjust our work if required, to ensure we're helping you to move forward and make the changes you wish to see.

Initially I'll help you to better understand and manage your current struggles, to reduce any distress or discomfort and restore a sense of stability and calm, both in and outside of the therapeutic environment. We'll work with strategies which are best suited to you, to help you feel better.

Then, if appropriate, we'll take a deeper look at any longer term patterns, and why they might have developed, to foster lasting healing, self-awareness and understanding, and a new, more fulfilling way of living, which feels in line with who you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked for Mind's counselling & psychotherapy service and an NHS crisis team before setting up in private practice.

I'm a qualified NCPS registered psychological therapist with three years of postgraduate level psychotherapy training (PG Dip).

I am also completing my master's level training to achieve full registration with the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) as a psychotherapist.

Formerly a diplomat, it was the profound learning I experienced in therapy which led to my desire to use my skills and lived experience to help others. Through my own change, and in-depth psychotherapy training, I understand the complexity of the challenges we can all experience, why unhelpful and unfulfilling patterns can form, and how to help you heal and achieve lasting change.

I have particular experience of working with anxiety, low self-esteem and imposter syndrome as specialist areas, in addition to my work with clients presenting with a diverse range of struggles and symptoms.

I work according to the ethical and professional codes of my professional bodies, the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and UK Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA).

Additional Credentials:
