About me
I specialise in working with folks exploring difficult relationships with food, body, identity or health, who want to develop a more peaceful and connected relationship with themselves. Do you long for a relationship with yourself that is based in belonging, trust and respect?
Therapy is a space and relationship where you can bring all of you, unfiltered, messy and complex, so that you can have room to be. And then go from there. This process can help you to untangle things, maybe reconnect with or rediscover yourself. It can be a brave space, where you have the opportunity to explore the parts of yourself that feel broken, overwhelming or confusing. To find acceptance, understanding and then ways to move forward authentically.
My practice is grounded in the values of body autonomy & liberation, non-diet approach, fat positive & weight inclusive care and that ultimately you are the expert of you. I am neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ and open-relating affirming. I bring these values into my work with disordered eating and eating disorders, as well as holding you at the centre of that work, with your desires and goals. I am also passionate about creating more accessible spaces for men and neurodivergent folks to explore support for eating disorders and body image struggles.
One of the ways that I like to think of the therapy process is as a string of lights, where each of the little lights comes on over time. These seemingly insignificant little bulbs may feel small and frustrating at the time, because of the desire for that big fix. And as you work through the process, you’ll be able to connect to the lights twinkling behind you, building up in strength around you and illuminating the paths in front. Maybe at some point you connect with the idea that you are the source of that power.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training is rooted in a person-centred approach, establishing a way of being in this work that cements listening with compassion and respect at its core. In a world that can often feel rife with rules and shoulds, a person-centred space offers somewhere for you to explore you. In your own time, in your own way. With acceptance, change can happen within the right conditions that honour and support you. Therapy is one way in life to explore your sense of self and relationship with the world with those conditions.
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, with additional training in Nutrition Counselling, Non-Diet Approaches and Body Image. I am also continuing to explore professional development in topics such as neurodivergence, trauma, addiction and eating disorders. I have completed an MSc in Human Nutrition. Prior to embarking on my Counselling training, I was a Nutritionist, working 1:1 with folks and running group workshops to support more peaceful relationships with food and body. Since 2015, I have been a HCPC Registered Paramedic, working in various roles and environments within the community, which is where my love for person-centred spaces, being alongside and access to quality care began.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

In my own life, my interests are ever changing. I like having some form of creative outlet and recognise my eagerness for wonder and adventure, with an equal, if not bigger measure of doing absolutely nothing with a cuppa.
