About me
Hello!
I am an experienced and highly qualified therapist with years of experience working with children, young people, and adults.
I am an Art Psychotherapist offering 1-1, group, and dyadic work (parent/child). Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy. It is not essential to use art in therapy, however, any art created is used as an aid to or as a form of communication and/or expression in the therapy room. The therapy space offers the space for talking therapy if that feels comfortable, or using art as a way to express feelings if they are difficult to name or put into words.
I am also an EMDR Practitioner, which is an evidence based Psychotherapy treatment that helps people heal from the symptoms and emotional distress a person feels as a result of trauma. Further information regarding EMDR and the process can be found at: https://emdrassociation.org.uk/
I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma (including: processing experiences /Flashbacks / Somatic responses / Social isolation / Re-building relationships / Understanding trauma responses and the brain), PTSD, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, loss, self-harm, suicidal ideation, depression and anxiety.
I believe that empathy, understanding, and a safe space are key to the therapeutic journey. Providing a safe environment for clients to express, communicate, and reflect on their experiences, thoughts, and feelings, I offer clients the space to be listened to and understood.
I believe in the importance of psychoeducation to support clients in understanding their mental health and learn how to build coping strategies and support themselves outside of sessions. I offer psychoeducation sessions which focus on answering questions around trauma, understanding trauma presentations, understanding trauma and the brain, and learning about coping strategies such as grounding, physical, sensory coping (plus more).

Further information
In your initial session you have time and space to ask any questions about therapy and to get used to the space. In the session you have space to discuss what you are struggling with and ideas for therapy. I work in a person-centered way, to offer support catered to your needs and in a way you are comfortable with. We can use the space to talk, reflect, and process, with the option to use art materials to help you understand, express, and process feelings, and experiences. I also offer the opportunity for psycho-education, as a way to understand your mental health and the way in which your brain works.
Please do get in touch if you have any questions about therapy, and are unsure if it is right for you. I am happy to discuss any concerns/questions to help you understand what is best for you, and what kind of support you may be looking for.
I offer therapy online, in-person, and walk and talk - to give you the option to choose the right support for you
