About me

I’m a compassionate Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist supporting adults and adolescents to make sense of and process their experiences. You may be coming to therapy because something feels difficult to move on from - a loss, a health-related change, persistent worry, or distressing memories that feel heavy. You might feel stuck or disconnected from the person you used to be.

I often work with people to recover from trauma, move forward with grief, and cope with the impacts of long-term health conditions and anxiety. I am trained in a range of evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Compassion-Focused, and Narrative therapies, which I use flexibly to suit your needs and preferred way of working.

Above all, I value developing a compassionate and trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel supported, heard, and understood. I offer a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where we work together at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on what matters most in your life. I offer both short- and longer-term therapy, working collaboratively to help you make sense of your experiences, ease distress, and find new ways to move forward. I am passionate about therapy being an inclusive space, and being sensitive to the individual identities, values, and contexts of my clients.

Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is important, so I offer a free introductory call to explore how we might work together. If this feels like the right time to seek support, I’d be happy to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist, having completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. This provided me with training in a range of evidence-based approaches, which I use in an integrative way to best meet individual needs. I have also completed additional training in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Narrative Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy and use these approaches in my practice.

Alongside working privately, I currently work part-time in the NHS as a Senior Paediatric Psychologist at a children’s hospital, supporting young people and their families who are coping with the impacts of long-term health conditions. Throughout my career, I have worked in a wide range of settings, including other paediatric psychology services with a previous specialism of supporting people with heart conditions. These roles gave me experience in supporting people to recover from traumatic experiences, including medical trauma and bereavements. Prior to my doctoral training, I worked for several years in Drug and Alcohol Services within the NHS and charity sector.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
