About me
Hello I'm Matt, thanks for taking a look at my page. I recognise how difficult it can be to contact a counsellor. It can feel like it's never the right time. Perhaps today is the day to start your Next Chapter?
Whatever is happening in your life, betrayal, bereavement, anxiety or depression, low mood, work or family stress, talking to someone about your problems will help life feel far less overwhelming.
I have completed intensive training in Couples and Relationship therapy accredited by COSRT ( College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists). This therapy can be transformational not just for traditional married couples or intimate partners but also family members, business partners, even as a way of preparing for married life or as a way of managing an amicable separation.
I have worked for the NHS since my early 20s, much of this time was spent working in an area that helps people with severe and enduring mental health conditions. Being immersed in the world of mental health started my interest in the field, which began my journey to becoming a counsellor. I am now part of a thriving practice and have worked with hundreds of remarkable people.
I hope to provide you with a space where you can speak freely, without fear of judgement. This freedom of exploration quite often means things begin to feel clearer and more doable.
I respect that it's not always easy to see a therapist, to explore inner fears and anxieties, and it takes real courage to do it. We will approach this together, at your own pace, with your wellbeing as the priority.
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and adhere to their professional framework, I am also fully insured.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
