About me
Introduction
I work with adults who feel stuck in painful patterns, weighed down by anxiety, shame, self-criticism, or a growing sense that something in life no longer feels right.
Perhaps you find yourself overthinking constantly, struggling with low self-esteem or feeling as though you are never quite good enough, finding it difficult to feel close or connected in relationships, or repeating ways of coping that once protected you but now leave you feeling exhausted, low, or lost.
You may be carrying grief — not only the loss of others, but sometimes a sense of losing connection with yourself, your confidence, or the life you imagined for yourself.
I offer psychotherapeutic counselling in Stroud, Nailsworth and Painswick, as well as online, and work with clients across Gloucestershire including Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Whatever you are facing, I offer a calm, thoughtful, and compassionate space where we can begin making sense of these experiences together.
My approach
My work is grounded in a relational and compassionate approach. I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and able to explore what is happening for you openly and at your own pace.
Therapy often begins with the difficulties or symptoms that bring you to seek support. Together we can explore these experiences, as well as the emotions, patterns, and relational histories that may lie beneath them. This can help you understand yourself more deeply and begin responding to your experience in new ways.
I work with the whole of your experience — including your emotions, thoughts, relationships, bodily responses, and the ways you may have learned to cope or protect yourself over time.
At times, we may notice different parts of you — perhaps a critical voice, a protective side that keeps distance, or a part that feels anxious or overwhelmed. Rather than pushing these reactions away, we approach them with curiosity and compassion. This can help reduce inner conflict and allow greater freedom in how you respond to yourself and others.
I am also mindful of the wider context in which your life unfolds. My background in social science informs an awareness of how culture, identity, relationships, and social pressures can shape emotional wellbeing.
Experience
Alongside my private practice, I have worked therapeutically with adults experiencing a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties across different settings.
I have also worked in hospice care, supporting adults navigating grief, bereavement, illness, and fears surrounding death. These experiences have shaped a steady, thoughtful, and compassionate approach to working with painful and complex emotions.
What to expect
I offer a free introductory call by phone or video. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what is bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and get a sense of whether working together feels right.
If you decide to begin, our first session will focus on understanding what you are hoping for from therapy and beginning to shape the work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Location and contact
I offer sessions in person across Stroud, Nailsworth, Cheltenham and Painswick, as well as online.
If you would like to arrange a free introductory call, you are welcome to get in touch. I usually respond within 24 hours.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
