MBACP Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist

About me

I help clients with their personal problems, including addiction, anxiety, bereavement, depression, family issues, loss, low self-esteem, stress and trauma.

To ensure sessions are effective and result in positive outcomes for clients, my approach is to develop a safe therapeutic relationship. I aim to understand the world from your perspective. I'll be by your side to help you find your way through the unique challenges in your life.

Life doesn’t always go to plan, and when we're not coping, it’s tempting to avoid the problem or try to numb the pain in our lives. Working with me will help you move forward towards a better future.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I believe there is no "one size fits all" approach to client work. Each person has their own history and reason for seeking therapeutic support, and so I offer a range of interventions, where required, to meet each clients' needs.

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.  There is no "one size fits all" approach to client work. Each person's background and reasons for seeking therapeutic support are different, and so I offer a range of interventions, where required, to meet each clients' needs.

I know from personal experience that therapy helps. A common tendency is that we deny or push our troublesome emotions away. But when they keep coming back, our coping strategies aren't always effective.

I can help you explore your feelings in a safe and non-judging environment.  I can give confidential emotional support and practical guidance to help you move forward to a brighter future.

I am a registered member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I am qualified, insured, and work in accordance with the BACP's ethical framework. All client work is fully confidential. I see clients in person, outside of business hours, in Sheffield S10.

My working life has been in business. I have worked for large and small companies in senior management and general management roles.  I'm able to integrate the theoretical therapeutic models with the practical realities of everyday life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
