About us

Therapy, Clinical Supervision and Mediation, in South Shields and online.

Whoever you are, whoever you love, however you identify, you are welcome here.

I am Kingsley Boateng and Marking Therapy is my private practice. I have worked as a therapist since 2019. I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor rather than a single model practitioner, which means I draw on person centred, CBT informed, solution focused and mindfulness based approaches and shape the work around you instead of fitting you to one fixed method.

Most people come to me about anxiety, low mood and depression, trauma, bereavement, communication difficulties, identity, and gender, sexuality and relationship diversity. Sessions are conversational and practical. They begin with what is actually happening in your life, not with a programme.

What I offer:

  • Counselling and therapy, for individuals or couples.
  • Online therapy, by secure video or telephone, wherever you are in the world.
  • Hypnotherapy, for habits, anxiety, sleep, confidence and stress.
  • Clinical supervision, for qualified and trainee therapists, using the Cyclical Model of Supervision.
  • Civil and commercial mediation, for civil, commercial and community disputes, settled confidentially and without going to court.

Three things you can count on. Sessions are shaped around what you bring, not a fixed programme. You work with me from the first session to the last, not with whoever happens to be free. And the space is private and unhurried, somewhere you can say what you actually think.

This is an inclusive, affirming practice for people of every background, ethnicity, culture, faith, gender, sexuality and relationship style.

There is a free ten minute introductory call if you would like to hear how I work before you book anything.
