About me
Hello, my name is Mark. I’m a welcoming, and proudly down to earth therapist based in Epsom, Surrey. I work in-person and online. I'm BACP Registered, which means I'm fully qualified and work to high professional standards.
I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low mood, and other common mental health challenges. I support individuals experiencing low self-esteem or low confidence, relationship difficulties, and the impacts of trauma. I also provide guidance around sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, and questions of personal identity, as well as helping people manage stress, burnout, and chronic health conditions.
Additionally, I assist those feeling a loss of direction or meaning in life and those navigating complex emotions. I can offer counselling and therapy specifically for men, addressing issues that are often unique to male experiences.
As a type-1 diabetic, I also offer therapy tailored to people living with both type-1 and type-2 diabetes.

What's on your mind?
If you’ve arrived here, you’re likely looking for support to help you make meaningful changes in your life. Perhaps you’re experiencing confusing emotions, struggling with your mental health, or feel that life has reached a point where things just aren’t working anymore.
Maybe you feel lost, unsure of exactly what needs to change - but something in your gut tells you that things don’t feel right.
The good news is, these kinds of experiences are incredibly common, and they’re exactly where therapy can help. It can empower you to understand what’s going on and begin to move forward.

My approach
My therapy approach focusses on awareness, acceptance and change. You are the expert in your own life and it's my job to help you make the changes that are right for you. I genuinely care about each of my clients and I always treat them as people, not problems.

How I work
Using evidence-based, modern therapeutic techniques. I offer a warm, professional and confidential listening space for you to discover yourself, support growth, address common mental health issues and explore your emotions, empowering you to better support your own wellbeing.
I work as an 'integrative therapist' - a model that combines elements from various therapeutic approaches, allowing me to adapt and tailor my work to suit each client’s unique needs.
While I draw from methods such as CBT, ACT, Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Psychoeducation, and others, the core of my practice is rooted in 'Person-Centred Therapy'.
At its heart, this model holds the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Therapy provides a space to explore your experiences and challenges, enabling you to make changes that feel right for you.

My Therapy Style
‘Being in therapy’ can sometimes make us feel like we're 'weak' or something is 'wrong' with us. That’s something I’m passionate about changing.
My style of therapy focuses on removing shame - by accepting you as you are, without judgement of your past or actions. I aim to help you understand the past, accept the present, and begin shaping a future that feels more aligned with who you want to be.
I work with the 'narrative' of your life - how your thoughts, self-talk, emotions, and behaviours interact to shape your sense of self.
------
I understand choosing a therapist can be difficult and I want to thank you for taking the time to consider me. Should you have any questions, please book a introductory call or drop me a message. I would be more than happy to hear from you.
Take excellent care, Mark.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
