About me

You’ve taken the first step in looking for help by arriving here. This must feel nerve-wracking - but help is out there and things can get better. I work with individuals and couples in a kind, supportive, non-judgemental environment. We will take things at your pace and work only with what you bring.

Do you currently have a feeling that ‘something isn’t quite right’? You might feel this when you wake up in the morning. Or these thoughts may affect you as you try to sleep at night. If something feels not quite right, even if you can’t put your finger on it, talking to someone can help.

I would like to offer you a free 15 minute consultation where you can ask questions and look at how we might approach therapy together. It is entirely normal to feel anxious at this stage and meeting with a therapist for the first time makes a lot of people nervous. This initial conversation will help. If you are happy to proceed then meeting weekly, in person or online, for 50 minutes at a time would be the ideal way to do it. And I can’t stress enough - we will take this slowly and in a supportive environment.

I work with both individuals and couples. Maybe you recognise some of the following?

Areas I can help with include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Sex and Relationships
  • Loss
  • Bereavement
  • Grief
  • Work pressures
  • Stress and burnout
  • Low self-esteem
  • Relationship challenges
  • Long-term relationship difficulties
  • A feeling of unplanned changes in marriage/relationships
  • Losing the individual in relationships
  • Trust issues
  • Obsessions
  • Sexual identity

Training, qualifications & experience

My training is extensive: I have a BSc (Hons) in Person Centred Pluralistic Counselling (Advanced Practioner) from the renowned Metanoia Institute in London. I also have a Foundation Certificate in Couple Counselling and Psychotherapy from Tavistock Relationships, also here in London.

Before achieving these qualifications I had a 30 year career in challenging, highly pressured work environments. If you are going through something similar, I can truly empathise. I have experience, through my training, of working with people challenged by the areas listed above.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
