About me
About Me
I'm Marisa, a highly qualified, accredited and experienced therapist at the Elland Wellbeing Centre.
Qualifications
I am qualified in Psychology Bsc (Hons) and Counselling and Psychotherapy (PG Dip).
I am an accredited, registered member of the BACP (Registration number 058379).
Sessions with me
I offer one to one counselling, on a short term (Brief Therapy) or on a long term basis. On average a patient will need 6-8 sessions.
I provide a comfortable, relaxed environment where clients can feel safe exploring their feelings.
I work with adults, children and young people.
I treat most presenting concerns e.g. depression, relationship issues, anxiety, self-esteem, abuse (recent or historic), bereavement, anger issues, redundancy, work stress, phobias and divorce/separation.
I enjoy helping people to free themselves from their problems, reach their potential and become the person they were meant to be, or used to be!!
I advocate talking therapies and the person-centered approach over labelling 'disorders' and prescribing medications.
I ask 'what happened to you?' not 'what's wrong with you?'.
I offer an initial consultation over the phone or face to face as I feel its important that my clients feel comfortable and relaxed with myself to move forward and reach their goals.
If you would like to discuss the counselling I offer please email or call me.
