About me
Hello, my name is Marie. I offer a unique blend of psychosynthesis,Internal Family systems and nature-based therapy in the beautiful grounds of Ashburnham Place, Battle, and face-to-face sessions in London Bridge and Tunbridge Wells.
I understand that you might be here because you’re seeking support. Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, or a low mood has taken its toll. With over 10 years of experience supporting people with similar issues in the NHS, I know how challenging these times can be. What I’ve learned on my personal journey is that symptoms of fear and sadness are not signs of inadequacy but valuable messages indicating that something within you needs attention. Are you listening to the subtle signals your body and psyche are trying to communicate?
In my practice, I use a psychosynthesis approach, which is based on the belief that every person has the potential to lead a fulfilling life. Many of us only tap into a fraction of our potential. Through psychosynthesis counseling, we explore the feelings, thoughts, and sensations that arise during crises or challenges, recognising that these moments also carry the potential for new growth. While we can’t always control what happens to us, we can choose how we respond and relate to these events.
I offer online sessions, face-to-face therapy, and nature therapy in a peaceful woodland in the heart of East Sussex. This tranquil environment can provide a unique and healing space for you to explore and address your concerns.
If this message resonates with you, please do get in touch.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a (BSc) Degree in Psychology. Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in CBT interventions specialising in anxiety and depression working at the NHS. Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGDip) and I am also an Internal family systems (IFS) informed practitioner.
I trained at the Psychosynthesis & Education Trust and I am a member of the BACP (MBACP) which employs a strict code of ethics to ensure the highest standards of practice. I am also a Member of the BABCP.
My psychosynthesis training was integrative (drawing from all schools of psychology) and I have a tendency toward depth work. Psychosynthesis supports transformation encouraging our fullest realisation of ourselves to be met.
I am also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) IFS and psychosynthesis share a similar philosophy and are an integral part of my work.
A big part of my practice is supporting people outdoors , allowing people to get the benefit of natures medicine.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
