About me

Are you feeling a bit lost and wondering if this is all there is to life? Are you struggling with your circumstances, wanting to create change but not sure how? Or do you already have a sense that there is something greater out there for you but not sure what that means?

You’re not alone. I think we all have an inherent longing to understand ourselves better and to connect more deeply with ourselves, others and the world around us. We all wonder about the meaning of life and what forces (if any) control our universe.

At our core we all want to be feel happy, fulfilled and free to live our lives according to our own sense of purpose. I believe we all have the capacity to do this, but sometimes it can be difficult to access our own inner tools and wisdom. Sometimes we struggle to make sense of confusing thoughts and we need help to find a way through painful feelings and difficult experiences. That’s ok. As human beings we are all interdependent. We need each other and working though our challenges together is so much easier and more effective than on our own.

That’s why I’m here. As a fully qualified counsellor, mindfulness teacher and transformational coach I offer one : one therapy as well as group classes and workshops, with a holistic perspective on wellness and self development. In a confidential setting you will be supported through your own personal process, where you are guided to connect more deeply with yourself and uncover your innermost truth so that you can live in alignment with who you really are, rather than trying to be who you think you should be.

It’s a process of letting go of the limiting self beliefs that have been holding you back, becoming more authentically you and more able to love and trust yourself.

This is not a quick fix to a problem, it is a deeply therapeutic transformation which is likely to affect every area of your life.

Some benefits include:

  • Reduced stress, fear and doubt
  • Greater sense of meaning and purpose
  • Increased self awareness, self love and inner direction
  • Improved relationships with others
  • More ability and motivation to create change in your life
  • Feelings of peace, enjoyment and fulfillment

My unique approach is founded in my extensive training as well as my personal and professional expedience of working with people from all walks of life.

I am a fully qualified counsellor with a postgraduate qualification from the University of Edinburgh and over 15 years experience working in the mental health and social care sector. My clinical training is founded in the psychodynamic model, which is the understanding that our past expediences and relationships shape our personality and sense of self. This is underpinned by the principles of the person centred approach - the awareness that each person has the ability to find their own way, if provided with the correct conditions. I also work with mindfulness and meditation as a tool for going beyond the surface level and accessing the innermost parts of ourselves, to find a deeper sense of truth and meaning.

I have recently completed a year long training course in Compassionate Inquiry, a unique form of therapy developed by world renowned trauma and addictions expert dr Gabor Mate and I use these principles and methods in sessions as appropriate.

I have spent all my life seeking for a deeper truth beyond the world we can see with our eyes. I have studied meditation, yoga, philosophy, ancient wisdom and modern spirituality and in 2013 I was ordained as an interfaith minister - a modern minister for people of all faiths and none. I am committed to a deepening path of open-hearted living and awakening of consciousness for myself and others.

I don’t pretend to have all the answers but I am open to exploring your questions with you in a way that honours your truth.

If you would like to know more about how I work and if it's right for you, please get in touch. I will be happy to answer any questions over the phone or email. I also have a team of highly skilled therapists working in my practice and am happy to match you with the right person, as needed.
