About me

Feeling down, lost, stuck and overwhelmed. Having intrusive thoughts. Feeling disconnected from the world and yourself.

Trying to fill that void, but not knowing where this emptiness is coming from.

These feelings are quite normal and we will experience them in our lifetime and sometimes life can get the better of us. This can cause us to not know where to turn and who to trust.

As an integrative therapist, I believe it is very important to build a therapeutic relationship by providing a nurturing environment along with confidentiality and compassion and no judgement. I believe people should have the freedom to explore their uncomfortable feelings, which I believe will help them reconnect with themselves and others.

As an integrative counsellor, I combine several modalities such as CBT, Person-centred, Gestalt and Psychodynamic therapy, just to name a few, as my approach is tailored to suit you.

I work short-term and long-term, with each session lasting for 50 minutes.

I believe that there is not just one therapeutic approach that can help you in a set of circumstances. I take into account that everyone is unique and their experience of the world is different.

By drawing upon many modalities, mixing the theories and interventions, an approach is formed to suit you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Our first session will be a little different. The first session is a friendly chat. Getting-to-know each other. This session allows you to choose if you would like to continue to work with me if you feel comfortable or not, with no pressure or judgement.

This session will include an introduction to how I work, such as contracting and what is expected in the session from you and me.

And a chance to tell your story and what you might be experiencing. I will also complete an assessment. While also allowing you to ask any questions you might have about therapy.
