About me
Hi, I'm Maria, a somatic therapist and integrative counsellor. I offer a gentle, body-focused approach that combines counselling with Somatic Experiencing. Modality was developed by Peter Levine.
Many people come to me because talking therapy alone hasn't reached the roots of anxiety, stress, or trauma. In my sessions, I integrate traditional counselling skills with somatic therapy, helping you understand what your body is holding and why certain patterns continue.
My approach is warm, steady and collaborative. We work together to notice sensations, emotions, boundaries and nervous system responses, so that your body can gradually release tension and come back into a state of safety.
This work is suitable for people experiencing:
- Anxiety and chronic stress
- Trauma
- Feeling disconnected from the body
- Emotional overwhelm
- Burnout and nervous system dysregulation.
Whether you are looking for counselling, somatic therapy, or a blend of both, I adapt each session to what you need. My aim is to help you feel more grounded, present and connected to yourself.
I offer in-person sessions in a quiet, private therapy loft in Kingswood (Bristol), and online sessions for those who prefer support from home.

Further information
My practice combines somatic therapy, nervous-system regulation, and counselling. This integrative method supports clients who want more than traditional talk therapy- especially those experiencing trauma symptoms, anxiety, stress-related physical tension, emotional dysregulation or long term overwhelm.
Somatic work is offered gently and only if it feels right for you. Many clients benefit from a blended model: counselling for insight and clarity, and somatic work for releasing help patterns in the body.
This approach helps increase resilience, restore balance and build a deeper sense of self-trust and stability.
