About me
Hello, I am a registered psychotherapist with a background in Health Psychology. I offer a safe and non-judgmental environment where we can explore your feelings and make sense of past and present events, relationships, or life situations. I work with the utmost sensitivity and respect for your particular circumstances.
My practice
My main therapy approaches are embodied and psychodynamic. Let me tell you what I mean by that.
As a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, I strongly believe in the body-mind connection and the psychotherapeutic use of movement. This somatic practice not only allows us to connect with our bodily sensations and feelings but also to find creative ways to express those. Often my clients say: “I have no words to express how I am feeling right now”. By moving in a different and more conscious way, we can access unconscious material, name some experiences, change emotional states and ultimately improve our general well-being. However, for those people who prefer a talking therapy, this is also an option.
My psychodynamic training serves as a theoretical framework to understand how our feelings, behaviours and relationships are influenced by our past, unconscious mind, and impulses. Becoming aware of these allows us to understand who we are, change certain dysfunctional patterns and improve the way we relate with ourselves and others. This can lead to more internal freedom and to live more fully.
I currently combine my work in private practice with various teaching roles in Higher Education. I offer individual and group psychotherapy face to face sessions in the Mayfield and Leith areas of Edinburgh. When meeting in person is not possible, I also offer online sessions to reach out wherever you are. I can work in English, Spanish, German and Catalan.

Professional Experience
I have worked as part of multidisciplinary teams in a variety of settings, from acute wards and primary care in national healthcare systems in Spain and Switzerland to community projects and private practice in Spain and the UK. I have therapeutic experience working with children, young people, adults and elderly people from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
My clinical experience includes individual and groupwork in Child, Youth and adult Psychiatry, as well as with older people (geriatric psychiatry). I have particular experience with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), eating disorders, dementia, substance abuse, depression, trauma, and the so-called central sensitization syndromes or Medically Unexplained Symptoms (fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, etc.).
The majority of my clients in private practice do not have a diagnosed mental health condition, but they come to see me to improve their general well-being. Some are seeking help for anxiety or depression. Some have body issues or identity concerns. Some are going through a difficult time due to a loss or a breakup. Some are looking for healthier and more satisfying relationships, with others and with themselves. Some are having a personal crisis or are going through transitions in life: having a change in career, moving location, experiencing parental issues, training as counsellors/psychotherapists, etc. All of them have in common the need to change something to get the most out of life.
In therapy, I can support you to identify attitudes and behaviours that block progress, understand your emotions, strengthen your capacity to handle whatever life throws at you, improve your body-mind relationship, and live a more coherent life.
