About me

I specilaise in treating anxiety, stress, panic, trauma and depression. I help adults, teens, children and couples using Person Centred Talk Therapy,  CBT or both intergrated together.

I am a qualified Counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Private counselling is advantageous as an appointment could be arranged within a week. Troubles affecting how you sleep, eat or function should be dealt with as soon as possible to avoid exhaustion, irrational thoughts and inability to communicate problems. Issues may have arisen due to changes in your life such as loss, relationship breakdown, work issues or changes with your health or self image.

My aim is to listen and guide you through your difficult time. You will feel heard, supported and understood. Together we will deal with the root of whats causing your concern and then carve out a therepeutic journey. We will review any changes required around negative thoughts and behaviours. You may have fears about the future or feel sad about the past. Counselling gives you time and space to adapt to the here and now and to work through your problems so that you can regain balance or develop a new perspective. I have tried to offer services that are fresh, modern and varied to meet individuals preferences and needs.

Services that I offer include the following;

  • Talking Therapy using a person centred approach or CBT over the phone, online or in person. CBT may be incorported as an intergrated approach. Face to face sessions are offered in a relaxed, private and confidential setting in Woodham Village, Newton Aycliffe. £40 for 1 hour.
  • Walk and Talk Therapy gets you into the fresh air and helps maintain fitness. Walking boosts metabolism and improves blood circulation. £50 for 1 hour.
  • Head and Hand Massage Therapy works well for clients who are very anxious, worry alot, struggle to sleep or suffer with panic attacks. Headaches can feel relieved by massaging the scalp and hands will feel pampered. £45 for 1 hour.
  • Therapy Using Art helps you to explore feelings, release emotions, and unravel tension. Art supplies are provided, no artistic skills are necessary, its more about enjoyment and relaxation. £50 for 1 hour.
  • Pre- Wedding Therapy for the bride or groom. Getting married can be stressful, taking away the magic before the big day. Therapy can regain focus, reduce stress and rebalance calmness. £40 for 1 hour.
  • Child Therapy helps children to to deal with change which may affect their emotions and behaviour. Therapy is intergrated within play therapy using toy objects or creative arts and crafts. £35 for 1 hour.
  • Light Touch Therapy helps to prevent thoughts and feelings manifesting by discussing your worries, big or small, early on.  One or two sessions may only be required. It is easier some times to talk to a therapist rather than family or friends in order to gain clarity without judgement. £40 for 1 hour.

If you feel that therapy would be beneficial for you then call me for a chat about the next step; 07783300974. It is very important to look after your mind as well as your body. When both are functioning well, you are more likely to reach your goals and full potential.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
