About me

Hello

I am an experienced counsellor based in Witney Oxfordshire, and I work with young people and adults 18-80 years. I support clients with a wide range of emotional and interpersonal problems such as loss, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. Currently I am only able to offer online sessions  Mon-Thurs 10am – 8pm

Life changes and losses such as health issues, bereavements, and relationship breakdowns can cause overwhelm, increase anxiety and decrease your ability to make decisions. You may feel less confident with a decrease in self-esteem.

At the same time, with support change can also create an opportunity for reflection and re-evaluation, enabling us to think creatively about how best to move forward.

Meaningful change can take time and this varies depending upon each individual and what they would like from counselling.

Our work together will begin with your story and a discussion about what is going on for you, and what you would like to achieve or gain in our sessions going forward. For many people, being able to say exactly what is on their worried mind without judgement is a powerful catalyst for change and healing.

If you are experiencing anxiety, debilitating emotions, and relationship problems we will explore these feelings. Finding where they originate, and look out how they are impacting you now. We may also look at the everyday routines and patterns of your life.

Do they help or hinder you?

What changes do you want to make?

What thoughts and feelings might be keeping you stuck?

How different will life look as you move further towards where you want to be?

And importantly what resources, and skills do you have already that will help you get moving in that direction?

My counselling style is down to earth and compassionate, with your wellbeing the primary focus. With more than 20 years’ experience as a counsellor. I will support you, and create an accepting space for you to feel at ease to talk about difficult things, perhaps for the first time.

I offer a free no obligation consultation online or telephone to discuss any questions about what you are hoping to gain from the sessions or the way I work. Contact me  mandyjanecounselling@gmail.com to discuss further & book our first session,

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
