About me

Hello. Whatever has sent you seeking a therapist, welcome. Reaching out to find and share your journey of healing with another is the heart of talking therapy, but it is not always easy. If we work together, my aim will be for you to feel supported, seen, and heard maybe for the first time.

I am a trained in the Gestalt style of therapy, and I chose Gestalt, because of its capacity for creative solutions to aid the potential for change to be found within each of us.
Interwoven with the solid foundation of compassionate listening, we may use imagery, sound, and short guided mindful meditation to help you find more awareness about what is going on for you, and the reasons you are coming for counselling.

I may at times gently challenge you, but I will always, to the best of my ability, be beside you as you rediscover your joyful sense of being perfectly imperfect, and complete.

I offer a 15 minute zoom call to see if therapy with me feels right for you at this time.
If we move forwards, we work weekly, face to face, or online.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

What can you expect?

During our 15 minute intro we will discuss our counselling agreement, and how to pay. Following this all will be emailed to you, to ensure you know exactly what is happening before your first session.

In the first session, I will ask some questions, and in this first session only, make some brief notes. This is to help me understand your particular needs, and what brought you to therapy.

We will meet for 50 minutes, and always at the same time and day.
