About me

I truly believe that all behaviour makes sense in context and this ethos informs the way that I approach my work with clients. I am a trauma informed integrative psychotherapist trained in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. I offer 1:1 sessions, both face to face and online.

My approach is rooted in being non-judgemental and kind, allowing you to safely express your thoughts and feelings freely. I believe in trusting a client's innate ability to guide the pace of our work; together we can gently explore your lived experience with compassion and care. In understanding your story, we can make sense of how the challenges you've faced have 'shaped your journey'. In short, I believe that what has happened to you does not (and should not) define who you are.

I have a particular interest in working with those struggling with childhood trauma, low self-worth, anxiety, estrangement, familial relationship issues, shame and attachment issues. I have also worked with many clients who experience suicidal ideation, depression, grief and loss, and self-doubt.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a qualified professional with a Master in Counselling from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of Calgary. I am registered with COSCA and BACP, ensuring that I adhere to the highest standards of practice in my field.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
