About me

I am passionate about helping people and about mental health.

Sometimes it can be difficult to identify why we are feeling the way we are or  understand what it is we are feeling,  simply talking to a therapist can help us gain better insight into what is going on for us and bring about some much needed clarity.

How I work

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP governing body for psychotherapists. I have further training in the treatment of ADHD in adults and experience in understanding and treating neurodiversity.

I offer face to face therapy in my Guildford clinic. First and foremost, my approach is warm and welcoming, I aim to make you feel at ease, comfortable and safe in sharing whatever it is that has brought you to counselling.

I offer a kind, empathic and attentive ear and am dedicated to bringing improvement and growth to your life. Whether the work involves having someone to ‘just’ listen to or, involves greater examination of relationships, conflicts and feelings, I am able to tailor my approach and pace in order to bring about change.

I am psychodynamically trained which means my work involves looking at the unconscious and how the past has impacted you and your current relationships. Together we will explore these areas and, repeating patterns of behaviour that are no longer serving you well. This approach will allow you to understand your true, deep-rooted feelings, to improve self-awareness, to offload and, remove obstacles to personal growth.

I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which you are given the time to be heard and have feelings validated which can often be a rarity in our lives. The heart of my approach is to develop a highly supportive and empathic relationship with you from which, the basis of the therapeutic work can take place.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
