About me
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially when you're living with grief, loss or emotional overwhelm. Whether you're struggling after a bereavement, navigating a significant life transition, or simply feeling that life has become difficult to carry on your own, I offer a calm, compassionate space where we can begin wherever you are.
I work with people experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties, including grief and bereavement, anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship challenges and significant life changes. You don't need to arrive with the right words or even know exactly what's wrong. We can begin with whatever feels most important to you.
Grief is something I hold with great care in my work, including the quieter losses that can be harder to recognise, such as the loss of a relationship, health, identity, home or the future you imagined. If you'd like to understand more about grief, loss and emotional wellbeing, you'll find a growing collection of articles on my website. If you're not quite ready to reach out, you may find these articles offer some understanding and reassurance in the meantime.
My approach is person-centred, meaning our work is guided by what feels most important to you. Rather than offering advice or telling you what you should do, I provide a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, acceptance and understanding, helping you make sense of your thoughts, emotions and experiences, and supporting you to find a way forward that feels right for you.
I offer online counselling to clients across the UK and internationally, as well as in-person sessions in Stirling.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

What to expect
Taking the first step towards counselling can sometimes feel daunting, so I offer a free 15-minute initial conversation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and decide whether working together feels right for you. There is no obligation to arrange further sessions.
How I work
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert in your own life. Rather than offering advice or telling you what you should do, I provide a supportive, accepting space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
Counselling isn't about having all the answers. Sometimes it's about having the time and space to pause, reflect, and begin making sense of what you're experiencing. Whether you're living with grief, anxiety, emotional overwhelm or another significant life challenge, we'll work together in a way that feels right for you.
Sessions
I offer 50-minute counselling sessions in a comfortable, private therapy room in Stirling city centre, as well as online via Zoom for clients across the UK and internationally.
If you choose online counselling, all you need is a quiet, private space and a secure internet connection. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of accessing support from the comfort of their own home.
Resources
Alongside my counselling practice, I regularly write articles about grief, loss and emotional wellbeing. If you're not quite ready to reach out, you may find these resources offer some understanding and reassurance while you consider your next step.
One of my recent grief resources, The Grief Iceberg, has resonated with over one million people online. For me, that simply reinforces something I see every day in the therapy room: grief is deeply personal, and everyone deserves the space to experience it in their own way.
If you'd like to learn more about my approach before getting in touch, you'll also find a frequently asked questions section on my website, covering topics such as confidentiality, online counselling and what to expect from your first session.
