Hello and welcome. My name is Lynn Casey-Baker, I provide face-to-face/ telephone and online video counselling sessions, for individuals and couples from my private practice LCB Counselling, which is a small counselling practice in Catshill, on the outskirts of central Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. Offering counselling sessions to adults in a comfortable, relaxed and safe setting.

I offer a confidential, non-judgemental counselling service; helping you to explore what is troubling you.

I offer counselling to individual adults and couples of all ages. I can help you to feel generally happier and more confident; helping you to have better relationships with your family and friends and work colleagues. I help people seeking assistance for a range of difficulties; for example: anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bereavement, loss, work related problems, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, post-traumatic disorder, post-natal depression, self harm, health conditions, anger issues, childhood trauma, fertility issues, addictions. Including the specialist area of substance misuse (alcohol and drugs).  I have a special interest in relationship issues, and family systems

I am thoroughly trained and qualified to Masters level (Level 7), in Integrative counselling; which means I am fully competent to use several proven theories of counselling.  Allowing me to uniquely tailor how I work based on your individual needs. I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment, in which I will aim to encourage you to explore your difficulties at a pace that suits you.

Counselling is a talking therapy.  However, I offer more than just listening to you.  I can help you to gain a greater understanding of yourself, helping you to have enhanced insight and understanding about how you became you, how your difficulties arose and how they are presently impacting on you.  We can look at creating a plan of action to either help you reconcile your issues, or to help you to find ways of coping.  I can help you to find a way to move forward which feels right for you.  I can offer you coping strategies and techniques to help you manage better, both now and in the future.

Counselling may feel daunting. I assure you that you will be in safe hands. I am a registrant on the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) register. I have achieved BACP individual accredited status as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist; which signifies my work has been deemed to meet the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner. I will do my best to put you at ease and to answer any questions you might have about the process of counselling therapy and how it might benefit you.

Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of each individual or couple. The number of sessions required varies enormously and depends on what issues you bring.  We will discuss this when we first meet. Some people may require short term counselling, such as 6 sessions; others will require more longer term counselling.  I will not tie you in to attending a certain amount of sessions. A plan of work will be made together, to suit you and what you would like to address in our sessions together.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

If you telephone me and I do not answer, it is likely that I am with a client so will be unable to answer. If you wish me to return your call then please leave me a message stating when might be convenient for me to call you.
