About me
Working remotely
There is now no need to feel excluded from seeking help. For some, work, childcare, or distance, has been a block to accessing therapy. But that has changed. I can offer telephone sessions, just as easily as the more traditional face-to-face.
For your convenience we can work together remotely by phone using WhatsApp, Zoom or face to face. Making it easy to work with clients from all over the country and beyond, therefore location is no longer a barrier to getting support.
First Contact
In the first instance, message or email me, and then we can book in a brief telephone chat, during which time you can ask questions and together we can agree on how to proceed, and book in a first session.
Going Forward
As an experienced practitioner of more than 20 years, I am experienced in the use of a wide range of counselling approaches to provide integrative, solution focused, client led, bespoke therapy.
During our first session appointment, we can decide and agree on the right approach for you, that will get you back to feeling like your old self, or even better, in the least amount of time.
Before becoming self-employed I gained considerable experience working with drug and alcohol addiction, whilst working for a national charity linked to criminal justice and by working at an independent drug therapeutic community. But I also have experience of the care industry and I did train as an Orthopaedic Nurse.
Throughout my Counselling career I have regularly engaged in on going professional development, adding a variety of skills to my tool bag. So as well as a Counselling Diploma, I have an NLP Diploma, Advanced Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy Diploma, Psychosexual Dysfunction Diploma and BWRT Diploma.
I specialise in working with Anxiety in all its forms, Panic Attacks, Fears and Phobias, Addictive Behaviours, Sadness, General Anxiety Disorders, and Depression, as well as feelings of low self esteem and lack of confidence.
However, I also Coach people who are just generally a little bit stuck. For example, I've worked with several high achieving people who are bright, successful and have a very good lives. But who were just lacking a little bit of direction career wise, and felt stuck. I guess we can all recognise those times in our lives where it's sometimes 'harder to see the woods for the trees'. In those instances it took only a few sessions, to enable them to tap into resources which got them back on track and focused.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
