About me
Hi my name is Lynda, welcome to my page.
I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor offering a holistic approach to emotional wellbeing. I integrate a range of modalities including Person Centred Counselling, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and the Rewind Technique.
I work with a variety of issues and specialise in adult trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as stress, low self-worth and other emotional challenges. I also offer clinical hypnotherapy to help with relaxation, stress reduction, and overcoming issues or phobias that may be holding you back. I also use the Rewind Technique which can be particularly helpful for processing trauma in a gentle, safe way.
I provide one to one counselling for adults seeking support with emotional challenges, life transitions and personal healing. Sessions are in a safe and confidential space where you can talk openly and explore your experiences at your own pace.
I’m passionate about helping people find healing, clarity and connection in their lives. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the lasting effects of trauma. My approach is grounded in compassion, safety and trust – because I believe healing begins in a space where you feel truly seen and heard.

REWIND TECHNIQUE
The Rewind technique is a safe and effective therapeutic method used to treat PTSD, phobias, and anxiety. Allowing the brain to file traumatic memories correctly, reducing and eliminating flashbacks, nightmares and panic attacks. This therapy does not require a client to disclose or discuss painful details of the traumatic event that may be impacting on day-to-day life. Examples where this treatment may be useful are:
- Traumatic Incidents
- Intrusive memories or flashbacks
- Specific phobias
- Panic and Anxiety Responses
- Vicarious trauma
- Grief
Training, qualifications & experience

As well as working within my private practise I also work with a charitable organisation providing therapy to people both male and female who have experienced rape and sexual abuse. Here my work focuses on adult trauma, informed by a keen interest in the neuroscience of how trauma impacts the nervous system and the pathways to recovery.
I consider ongoing training and professional development (CPD) very important helping to increase and update my knowledge. Therefore, training is ongoing, continually growing and improving, so I may provide the best service for my clients.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My services are both face to face and online. I understand that the first step to approaching therapy can be daunting. For this reason, I offer a free initial 15-minute consultation where we can both discuss what you would like to get from the sessions, and I can answer any questions you may have.
What to expect from our sessions
The first session provides us with an opportunity to talk through and assess your needs and for you to decide if you will be comfortable working with me. I will complete an assessment during this session, and we can explore what you would like to achieve and what would be the best form of therapy for you.
Our sessions can be both short term and long term, but it is preferable that these are consistent.
Sessions are 50 minutes.
