About me
Choosing the right counsellor for you is an important first step of your journey to a happier future. I am able to offer you non judgemental and caring support throughout this unique experience in a safe and confidential environment. My core belief is that each person who chooses counselling is a unique individual with their own unique problem. Seldom do we as individuals take time out of our busy lives to sit down and talk to someone who will listen. I am a qualified Counsellor and I believe that in building a strong and trusting relationship with my clients it will enable them to feel safe and supported whilst discussing and exploring the issues that they have chosen to bring to the counselling room. I specialise in working with people who want to improve the quality of their life. Having worked in a busy medical practice for some years I have found that many issues that are brought to counselling involve loss of some kind. Loss can involve losing a friend, a family pet, a job, good health, a relationship, a family member, control of eating or drinking, self esteem, and confidence. Counselling can offer Warmth, Compassion, Authenticity, A Safe Haven, Deeper Self Awareness and the belief that you have within you the ability to find your own way. In terms of my experience I have worked with a variety of issues including: Bereavement Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Post traumatic stress, Work related issues, Low self esteem, Bullying, and Sexuality issues
I have a comfortable consulting room at home which is situated within 300 yards of a main line railway station, within easy reach of Lewes, Polegate, Willingdon, Hailsham and Seaford. I offer a safe, comfortable and confidential therapy room with easy parking.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
