About me

I am an integrative-relational counsellor, with experience in a range of settings, and I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step into counselling. I will work with you to feel comfortable and supported as you take these steps, and we will work at the pace you're comfortable with.

Being integrative in my approach enables me to offer a therapeutic relationship where we can explore different experiences in your life, both past and present, and I work in a way that offers empathy and respect, while we explore difficult feelings and issues.

I have much experience in working with neurodiversity and have understanding of some of the struggles that may come with this. Other issues that I work with include stress and anxiety, trauma, depression, low mood, bereavement, anger, low self-esteem, substance misuse, and relationship difficulties, among many others.

I work with adults and young people aged 16+, and offer face to face or online sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Postgraduate Cert- Psychology
  • BA (Hons)- Integrative Relational Counselling
  • Certificate- Understanding Autism
  • A variety of CPDs To further my awareness and understanding. These include walk and talk therapy, working with trauma, CBT, Mindfulness, body awareness, and working with sexual difficulties.

I work in both private practice, and for a local organisation which supports autistic people and their families. I also teach on counselling courses from the Level 2 Certificate, to the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

I have experience of working with people in a range of other settings, which includes a primary school, and a centre for people struggling with addictions.

My experience enables me to understand and appreciate different ways of being and I carry this awareness and empathy through in my work with clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
