About me
Life can be so hard, and sometimes the ups and downs we experience are overwhelming, and we don't know how to manage what we are going through. I cannot take away or change anybody's difficult life circumstances, but we can work together to try and find a way to increase your own capacity to cope when life gets tough. I offer a range of different counselling approaches.
These include but are not limited to, traditional Person-Centred counselling, where you will be offered a safe space to bring whatever you would like to in a non-judgmental environment and really feel heard and seen; Walk and Talk therapy, where we go outside and allow nature to play a part in the therapeutic relationship, with the knowledge that being in nature helps to restore our physical and mental wellbeing; Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) where we can work together to build your tolerance and capacity to hold difficult emotional feelings and thoughts; Creative counselling, where you can use paint, pencils, stones, sand, figures, cards, music, movement, in any way that we feel together would be beneficial for you to draw upon creativity as a tool for mindfulness and exploration.
We will always go at your own pace, whatever type of counselling you receive, and some people like to try a bit of everything and see what suits them best. Please get in touch if you have any questions at all and we can arrange an initial session should you wish to proceed.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I work with a wide range of issues, but I work with the person rather than seeing it as an issue as we are all complex beings. If there are times where somebody needs specific, specialist support, I will happily signpost them to somebody who specialises in the area they are needing help with.

Further information
I am currently studying a Masters in Psychotherapy with a special focus on Creative Counselling and Wild Therapy. I do not believe anybody needs 'fixing' or that I am the expert. I believe that life is really difficult, and people need some support to live in it well and to increase their capacity to hold difficult thoughts and feelings. I also believe that so many of us have lost connection to ourselves, to others and to the world around us, and I would love to help people find more meaning and value to their lives.
