About me

I am a Registered Principal Clinical Psychologist and have been working therapeutically with children and adolescents for the past 24 years. I am passionate about helping young people overcome their mental health challenges and develop the skills needed to successfully achieve their future goals.

I currently work within the NHS and the private sector. Since qualifying, I have worked in a variety of different NHS settings including an under five’s service, Child and Adolescent mental health service and an adolescent inpatient unit. I currently work in an adolescent day service for young people with complex mental health, emotional, social and behavioural needs. I begun my private practice in 2009 and have been working in both sectors since this time. Within my private practice I see children, adolescents and young adults aged 10 to 25 years old.

My clinical approach is person centred and flexible depending upon the needs of the individual. As a Clinical Psychologist I aim to help individuals explore and understand why they feel a certain way and support them to process difficult life events. I also help them develop coping mechanisms to take charge of their symptoms and to aid recovery. I work with individuals but also the systems around a young person as I feel this promotes further positive change.

I describe my approach as integrative, drawing on a variety of interventions and techniques from different therapeutic frameworks. These include CBT, DBT, EMDR and Narrative Therapy. I see young people with a variety of different presentation including, anxiety, phobias, depression, OCD, PTSD, self harm, eating issues, low self esteem and emotional disregulation
