About me

COUNSELLING - WHAT IS IT?
There are periods in many people’s lives when they feel depressed, anxious or overwhelmed. These feelings are extremely common and nothing to be scared or ashamed of, but that doesn’t mean you have to put up with them.

It’s good to talk to someone impartial, someone who doesn't know you. Talking to friends, colleagues, your family or your partner can sometimes help. Being able to talk to someone about how you are feeling can have a positive effect, but can also add to the confusion you feel. Friends and family may be too involved, or keen to provide you with the answers, telling you what you should or shouldn't do. However, perhaps you need some space to explore what it is that you want, what feels right for you.

Counselling provides you with a safe and confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It allows you to talk with someone who is trained to listen attentively and to help you improve things.

IT FEELS TOO DAUNTING TO ASK FOR HELP
It is always daunting for anyone to contact a Counsellor for the first time, and knowing that the Counsellor you are going to be seeing has been a client themselves before, and understands the fears, shame and difficulties that going to the first session may bring, I hope will reassure you as you think about taking this brave step.

ABOUT ME
I am a qualified Counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and MNCS (Accredited). This provides you with the assurance that you are working with both a qualified and registered Counsellor. I provide counselling services to anyone, or any age and working with a wide range of issues including; Anger, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Family Issues, Relationship issues, personal and work related stress, PTSD and Bereavement.

My counselling room is calm, quiet and a safe and confidential place to explore your current difficulties and thoughts and feelings. I have been working with clients presenting with a wide range of issues for over 12 years. I am a friendly, personable and caring person who can reassure clients and provide them with a non-judgemental place to talk and share whatever they want to bring to their session each week.

HOW DO I GO ABOUT BOOKING MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
If you would like to get started with counselling, you can contact me by phone or email today using the contact me link, to arrange your first appointment. The initial appointment provides you with an opportunity to meet with me, and to ask any questions you may have. We will get to know each other in this initial session, and talk about the issues that have brought you to counselling and how we can work together, and how you would like things to be different. We can arrange further sessions if you would like to continue with therapy with me, and these can be on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

I provide counselling online via Zoom or face to face in Evesham

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
