About me

Hello, I’m Lucy and I run Space to Talk Counselling, in central Eastleigh, thank you for visiting my profile.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, struggling with low mood, anxiety, feeling sad or depressed? Are you look for a safe place to offload? Sort through and make sense of your thoughts and feelings? Someone to offer you a cuppa, a box of tissues and sit with you while you work through things? If this is you then please contact me for a chat to see how you can start feeling better.

I believe that how we feel is a reflection of the pain, trauma and difficulties we have experienced. Counselling can offer you a space to tell your story, make sense of your experiences and begin to process life’s challenges. I offer a Humanistic Gestalt approach, viewing you as individual, unique and at the centre of your own therapy. I believe that understanding and self-awareness is the first step in growth, change and feeling better.

You maybe feeling stuck, struggling to make sense of things or needing a space to explore some coping mechanisms.  Or you might be looking to work through some unfinished business or to begin processing some unresolved trauma. I can offer you a Space to Talk and work through whatever you are going through.

I work with both adults and young people, with a wide range of issues. I am particularly interested in working with trauma and have recently completed a certificate in trauma informed and strength based practice.

I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I can hold the space for you, facilitate your journey and offer you a space to be both seen and heard.

I am now seeing clients both face-to-face and online, with full Covid safety guidelines in place. I work from a purpose built cabin in my garden, with private access.

I understand that the quest to find the right Counsellor, can be challenging. With so many different styles of therapy, it may feel tricky to go about finding the right one for you. Please do get in touch to chat through any questions you might have or to discuss how I may be able to help, we can arrange a no-obligation phone call.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
