About me

Hello, I’m Lucy and I run Space to Talk Counselling. I understand that the quest to find the right Counsellor, can be challenging. With so many different styles of therapy, it may feel tricky to know who to choose. I would love to have a chat to see if I am the right one for you.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, struggling with low mood, anxiety, feeling sad or depressed? Or maybe you’re feeling stuck and uncertain of your next move and not quite sure what you need from therapy. You may want to work through some un-resolved pain or trauma, sort through some unfinished business or to work out how to navigate something new and current. Perhaps you just need a space to offload, sort through and make sense of your thoughts and feelings? Someone to offer you a cuppa, a box of tissues and to sit and listen to you?

I believe that how we feel is a reflection of the pain, trauma and difficulties we have experienced. Counselling can offer you a space to tell your story, to make sense of your experiences and begin to process life’s challenges. I offer a Humanistic Gestalt approach, viewing you as an individual, unique and at the centre of your own therapy. Understanding and self-awareness is the first step in growth, change and moving forward.

I work from a purpose built cabin in my garden, with private access, in central Eastleigh. I see clients both online and face-to-face.

Please do get in with any questions or to arrange a free, no-obligation discovery call to discuss how we might work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
