Integrative Counsellor MBACP (Accred), MACC-Accred

About me

I'm a counsellor with 12 years experience working with individual adults of all ages and backgrounds who may be experiencing:

bereavement and loss, anxiety, stressful life events, depression or just feeling sad, relationship difficulties, abuse, self-esteem and self-confidence.

I am here to listen with compassion and empathy and together build a secure therapeutic relationship.

I am an integrative counsellor and tailor my approach to your needs. Depending on what you are bringing, I may draw from a range of ideas from bereavement theory, person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches to inform our work together.

Through our sessions we can explore your feelings, thoughts and experiences and consider how things are for you currently and how things may have been for you. Together we may consider what change means to you and consider how change may be implemented and what this may look like. I may encourage you to reflect on our sessions during the week - enabling the therapeutic process to continue between sessions.

Our sessions are a chance for you to talk in a safe and confidential space about what you are currently facing, what you may have experienced and what your concerns for the future may be. I seek to offer a non-judgemental and supportive space for you to reflect and process your experience and to enable you to make sense of your experiences and through this for you to gain increased awareness of your relationship with yourself and with others.

I offer short term or long term work.

I offer an initial 15 to 20 minute informal chat prior to an initial assessment appointment where we can meet and explore what you would like to work towards and change through the therapeutic process.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I am located in Fleet Street EC4Y 1DH, which has good bus and train links and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I offer online appointments via zoom.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
