About me

Are you struggling at the moment? Are you wanting to make changes to improve your life? I am an experienced counsellor (16 years+) offering respectful, non-judgmental, confidential and supportive counselling.

Hello - I'm Louise and I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I currently work in private practice, with adults, couples, adolescents (Secondary school counsellor for 10 years) and employee assistance programmes. In addition, I am a Relate trained Couples Counsellor, currently working with several couples counselling organisations.  I have 16+ years experience.

My approach  is warm, supportive and encouraging.  When we are in the right environment, we can hear and say things in a way we have not been able to before.

Most people seek counselling when they are struggling to deal with a difficult situation and are wanting things to be different. Counselling can help you to identify difficult feelings and emotions and enable you to develop and implement new strategies and thinking, to bring change. It is an opportunity to for you to have a voice and be heard.

Every person is individual and unique and each requires different things, therefore when we work together, I will help you work towards and achieve your goals.  I offer a counselling experience tailor made to suit your needs. I draw from a wealth of counselling disciplines including person centred, transactional analysis, CBT, and psychodynamic.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
