About me
Knowing where to start, when looking for a counsellor, can feel like a challenge. You may have a good idea what you need and what to expect or this may feel very new to you. Your experience of counselling and how helpful it can be to you will depend very much on the relationship that we can build together. There are lots of fantastic counsellors out there so it's important that you find one you can feel comfortable with, and that can work with you in the way that you need. To help determine whether that might be me, I offer a free 20 minute online or telephone session so that you have the opportunity to ask questions and experience a little of how it may feel to work with me.
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and I can work, with you, to build an environment where you feel free to explore any concerns that have brought you to counselling, and anything else that comes up along the way. I can provide a space for you to be yourself, without judgement, and where you will be heard. We are all individual and my role in the sessions is to help you understand yourself better, allowing you to identify ways of managing the problems you may be facing, whilst recognising your strengths and coping strategies.
I have experience of working with both adult and child clients on a variety of issues including low self-esteem, low mood, fears and anxiety, grief and bereavement, separation and loss, poor attachment and trauma. I also have personal and profession experience of working with neurodiversity.
I am trained in an integrative approach which simply means that I can work, with you, to discover which therapeutic approach will suit you best. I currently offer online and in person sessions. I work with you to determine how many sessions are needed and part of our agreement will include an agreement to regularly review how the sessions are going for you.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries, would like to book an introductory session or see a copy of my contract. I aim to respond to emails within 48 hours and texts within 24 hours.
