Louise Christie MNCS (Acc) Counsellor, CBT Practitioner, Supervisor

About me
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, which means I may use more than one approach to your therapy.
I have experience working with individuals of all ages including adolescents within a local secondary school and have supported victims suffering from Domestic Abuse and Social Isolation. I have successfully worked with men, women and families who present with numerous issues ranging from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, loneliness, abuse and difficult relationships to bereavement & loss, to name a few. You may not even recognise what's wrong, you just know you need to address it.
Many people ask, "What is counselling?" people's experience can differ, therefore it is a very individual process, however...........
Counselling usually involves talking about difficult or painful experiences and feelings, you may have no one to talk to or confide in. Counselling is a process that can help you work through your issues and take back control of your life. Counselling increases self-awareness and can also help with difficult decisions, it can be seen as the first step to a happier, more positive life.
I can provide a safe and regular space for you to talk and explore your issues. I will support you and respect your views without giving advice, but will help you find your own insights and gain an understanding of your problems.
I can offer you an honest, confidential and non-judgemental service in two comfortable locations.
Please do contact me should you wish to make an appointment.
Best wishes,
Louise

Further information
Before becoming a counsellor I worked in Finance, Banking and Insurance, I then took a career break and used the opportunity to re-train. Due to some difficulties of my own, I too turned to a counsellor for help and direction. This without doubt empowered me to make some positive and life-changing decisions. This is the reason I became a counsellor, to help other people come to terms with their current difficulties and assist in the transition to a happier life.
I attend regular supervision with a highly trained & experienced counsellor who ensures I am working ethically & safely at all times. I also review & update my skills & knowledge through CPD events & training.
I am fully insured with adequate liability insurance and hold a current DBS certificate.
