About me
I am Louise Bannister, a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. My role is to help you understand the difficulties you are experiencing by working together with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We will then try out tools and techniques that you can use to help you work towards your own personal goals and make meaningful changes in your life. One of the main aims of cognitive behavioural therapy is to help you become your own therapist so that once our work together is complete, you feel more able to face your future with self confidence and a deeper level of understanding.
All sessions will be carried out remotely via Zoom video call or over the telephone. I have found this to be a brilliant platform for therapy, however if you have any questions about it, please do not hesitate to contact me and find out more.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified, BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with a SCOTACS Diploma in CBT Counselling and Groupwork from The Centre of Therapy and Counselling Studies in Glasgow. I am a member of both the BABCP & COSCA and hold professional indemnity insurance.
I have four years of experience providing one-to-one cognitive-behavioural therapy sessions to clients and facilitating psychoeducational groups. I have experience working with a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also have a background in grief counselling.
