About me
Sometimes life can throw up some challenging and difficult times, or there maybe a time in your past that you have carried with you that's been surfacing recently or holding you back from what or where you deserve to be in life. Maybe you have been experiencing feelings that you are not sure off and would like to explore them in a safe, supported way.
Counselling can be a great way to explore these feelings, around a number of issues you maybe facing or finding difficulty facing. I work with you at a time scale that suits you and through all sorts of issues, Anxiety, Stress, Trauma, Abuse, Confidence/Body issues, Bereavement, School, Exam pressures, Family issues, Depression.
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with Adults, Children and Adolescents, offering a space to explore feelings in a safe, supported and contained space. I have trained in all modalities, so I can shape a tool kit that allows me to offer individual 1:1 counselling support to the client in front me.
I like to work in this way because I believe everyone is different, not one size fits all. You are not everyone else, you are you and you are important!
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over six years experience working in private practice, schools and the charity sector, as well as 100s of hours volunteering for charities such as NSPCC, Crisis, Every Parent & Child. I completed my post graduate training with Terapia, who specialise with Children and Adolescents accredited by Middlesex University. I was also qualified and accredited to work with Adults who I see in private practice.
I continue to develop and attend regular CPD and am an Individual member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and abide by the ethical guidelines.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
