About me
Life can feel heavy when you are navigating complex existential questions, health challenges, or simply trying to process the weight of an unfair world. If you are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or disconnected from yourself, you don’t have to carry it all on your own. I offer a warm, gentle, and grounding space where you can slow down, take a breath, and feel heard. Trained in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Brighton, my approach is centred on empathy, non-judgmental curiosity, and helping you reconnect with your own capacity for healing and growth.
Training, qualifications & experience
My practice is informed by real-world experiences across varied and challenging settings. Through my ongoing work at the Macmillan Horizon Centre, I sit alongside individuals navigating serious illness, grief, physical vulnerability, and profound questions of meaning. Having worked within large organisations, I also understand the subtle and overt pressures of corporate life, from chronic burnout to the struggle of maintaining your identity inside rigid institutions. Additionally, having completed a PhD, I know the landscape of academia, including the multi-faceted pressures, isolation, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism that often accompany doctoral research and higher education. I also bring a particular focus to the complexities of fatherhood and the unique difficulty of juggling competing family, personal, and professional responsibilities.
Underpinning all my work is an explicitly anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and socially conscious ethos. Our well-being does not exist in a vacuum; the structural inequities and harms of our society deeply shape our day-to-day experiences. In our therapeutic relationship, every part of your identity, background, and lived experience is welcomed, validated, and held with care. Whether you are moving through a major transition in life, seeking clarity amid academic or professional burnout, struggling with aspects of parenthood, or simply needing a safe space to rest and reflect in what can feel like an overwhelming world, we will move together at your pace.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
