About me

I am a person-centred & EMDR therapist & Clinical Supervisor and a registered member of BACP.  I aim to provide a warm, safe and confidential environment in order to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship.  Within this environment we can work together to help make sense of and understand whatever it is that you have been struggling with that has led you to counselling.  Counselling is a process of change and can help you to move forward in your life and help you to gain a better understanding of yourself.  Whatever your reason is for accessing therapy, I will work with you without judgement and at your own pace.

You may wish to explore or address old or unresolved issues in order to move forward with more clarity or you may be seeking support for a specific issue in your life, you may be experiencing impacts of these issues such as PTSD , anxiety or depression. Maybe you just feel different and feel like you don’t fit in or that you are misunderstood.  Counselling can offer the space you need to explore the world from your own perspective and help you to feel that you are not alone and that you can make change to relieve these feelings.

I have many years’ experience working with issues such as Rape and Sexual abuse, anxiety depression, drug and alcohol addiction.  I also offer clinical hypnotherapy and specialise in anxiety reduction. I am a fully qualified and experienced Person-Centred Counsellor, Clinical Hypnotherapist & EMDR practitioner  and Teacher.  I practice in Person Centred Counselling with over 10 years’ experience working in trauma specifically with adults and children affected by rape and sexual abuse. I offer clients a safe, non-judgemental and confidential setting in which they can explore any past or present issues. I provide an integrative approach of person-centred therapy EMDR, clinical hypnotherapy  & the REWIND Technique according to the needs of the client.  I qualified as a Person-Centred Counsellor in 2007 and Clinical Hypnotherapist in 2008 I have  worked with clients suffering from a range of disorders including anxiety, depression, stress and anger management, relationship issues fears and phobias.  I also have an enhanced qualification in weight management and stop smoking hypnotherapy. Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
