About me
Counselling & Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety, PTSD and More
Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stuck, or struggling with something that has happened in the past. You may have been coping for a long time, but have reached a point where you feel you need some support. You might not even know exactly what you need you may simply know that you don’t feel like yourself anymore.
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel difficult, and choosing the right therapist is important. My aim is to provide a warm, safe and confidential space where you can feel listened to, understood and accepted without judgement.
I am an experienced integrative therapist with over 15 years’ experience working with adults and young people, particularly those affected by trauma, rape and sexual abuse. I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, CBT Therapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist and EMDR Practitioner, and I am also a Clinical Supervisor and a member of BACP.
How I can help -
I work with a range of difficulties, including:
Trauma and PTSD
Rape and sexual abuse
Anxiety and panic
Depression and low mood
Stress and feeling overwhelmed
Fears and phobias
Anger management
Relationship difficulties
Low self-esteem and confidence
Unresolved or distressing past experience.
You may be looking for help with a specific problem, or you may simply feel that something isn’t right and want a safe space to understand what you’re experiencing.
There is no single approach that works for everyone. I use an integrative approach, drawing on Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, EMDR, Clinical Hypnotherapy and the REWIND Technique according to your individual needs and goals.
We will work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you. My role is not to judge you or tell you how you should feel. Instead, I will help you explore what you are experiencing, understand yourself more clearly and work towards meaningful change.
For clients who have experienced trauma, I understand that talking about what has happened can feel extremely difficult. You do not have to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. We can start from where you are now and work together from there.
I have more than 15 years’ experience working specifically with trauma, including supporting adults and young people affected by rape and sexual abuse. I also have additional training in working with complex and sensitive presentations, including suicidal clients, ritual and satanic abuse, and Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I am a safeguarding lead within my role as Executive Director for a Rape Crisis charity. This has given me extensive experience of supporting people affected by trauma and working within a specialist safeguarding environment.
I also specialise in using Clinical Hypnotherapy to support clients experiencing anxiety and related difficulties.
I have developed a three-session course designed to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression, with research into the course showing positive clinical outcomes. I can discuss whether this approach may be suitable for you during an initial conversation.
I also have additional training in weight-management and stop-smoking hypnotherapy.
Whatever has brought you to counselling, you deserve a space where you can talk openly and feel heard.
You don’t need to know exactly what you need before getting in touch. We can explore what’s happening for you and consider what type of support would be most appropriate.
If you feel that my approach may be right for you, I would be happy to hear from you and discuss how I may be able to help.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Each session normally lasts for 50 minutes, I’m able to offer both short-term and long-term work.
