About me

Welcome to Find Your Way Therapy - supporting people through life's ups and downs.

Hello and thank you for reading my profile. Taking the first steps towards finding and talking to a therapist can be daunting, but whether you decide to contact me or someone else on this directory you're one step closer to getting the help and support you need at the moment.

Talking to a counsellor gives you the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive and confidential environment. Therapy sessions provide the opportunity for you to talk to someone who is independent and outside of the situation. Just talking through an issue or problem may help you to find new perspectives, insights, options or ways forward.

Sometimes we try to keep too many plates spinning at once, in an attempt to fulfil several roles and perhaps putting other people's needs and demands before our own. Over time, the resultant stress and anxiety can take its toll and become overwhelming, especially during times of change and loss such as bereavement, redundancy, retirement, or the end of a relationship for example.

There are times in our lives when we might benefit from some additional support to help us through life's changes; or to cope with longstanding problems and concerns that may be causing sadness, or feelings of helplessness and confusion. Seeing a therapist provides the opportunity for you to talk about troubling thoughts and feelings in an empathic, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

We may not be able to, or we don't want to talk to friends or family about what's bothering us.  A few sessions with a therapist can make a big difference, to help you to unravel your thoughts, work things out and to re-focus. In other words, to find your way again.

I work with clients to achieve a more positive way of thinking, to help boost  confidence and self-esteem to enable people to gain more clarity about what they might want to achieve in life for themselves. Using a blend of counselling approaches,  also coaching and hypnotherapy (if appropriate and in agreement with the client), I have helped clients explore, understand and deal with issues from the past, relationship issues in the present, build confidence and self-esteem, develop their careers, whether that involves getting a job or going back to work after a period away and with interview preparation.  I have also worked with clients who are affected by retirement or a loss of sense of direction in life. I work with a wide range of issues related to stress and anxiety, low mood and depression, fears, phobias and panic, relationship issues (personal or at work), loss and bereavement.

Whatever the issue, I aim to assist my clients in gaining a better understanding of themselves. I also teach coping strategies (where appropriate and helpful) that can use in everyday life.

If you think I may be the right therapist for you please get in touch to arrange a free, no obligation telephone call to discuss how I may be able to help.
