Welcome to Find Your Way Therapy - supporting women through life's ups and downs.
In my experience as a therapist women often try to keep too many plates spinning at once, in an attempt to fulfil too many roles; putting other people's needs before their own and feeling guilty about taking time out for themselves. Over time the resultant stress and anxiety takes its toll and can become overwhelming especially during times of change and loss such as bereavement, redundancy, retirement, or the end of a relationship for example.
Sometimes we need a little extra support to help us through life's changes or longstanding problems and concerns that may be causing sadness or feelings of helplessness and confusion. Seeing a therapist gives you the time and space to explore troubling thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive, confidential and non judgemental environment. There are times when we can't or don't want to talk to friends or family about what's bothering us. A few sessions with a therapist can make a big difference, to help you to unravel your thoughts, work things out and to re focus. In other words to find your way again.
I work with my clients to achieve a more positive way of thinking, boost their confidence and self -esteem and help them to gain more clarity about what they want to achieve in life for themselves. Using a blend of counselling approaches, also coaching and hypnotherapy (if appropriate and in agreement with the client), I have helped women with building confidence and self esteem, career development, getting a job/going back to work and interview preparation. Also with a range of issues relating to stress reduction, relieving anxiety, low mood, fears, phobias and panic, relationship issues (personal or at work), loss and bereavement.
Whatever the issue, I always aim to help my clients gain a better understanding of themselves and teach them coping strategies they can use in their everyday lives. If you think I may be the right therapist for you please get in touch.
