About me
Hello. I work with children, young people and adults. I also work with parents and children together if this is helpful.
My background.
I worked in community settings and family homes with children and their families for over 20 years before moving into my private practice. I have supported parents/carers with babies and young children through to working with young people and adults. I have supported with parent/child relationships and childhood trauma, children's development and have been passionate about bringing more play into the lives of children and adults! Your inner world can be brought out in play. It's a chance to rediscover some parts of yourself that may have been forgotten. Feelings can be expressed without judgement, emotions can be processed and understood, your nervous system can calm, and you can bring all of yourself into the moment. A time to explore what is happening for you right now. You might choose to use the sand tray and symbols, clay, paints or other resources. Equally you can choose not to use the resources and sit in a comfy space to explore whatever issues you are bringing.
How counselling can help.
Counselling is a space where you can be fully yourself and bring whatever is happening/has happened for you and is impacting your life today. This might be difficult feelings following birth of a baby, relationship issues, grief and loss, feeling low or anxious amongst many others. You can get in touch with all of your feelings, even the ones that feel difficult to express or never seem to get heard. Sometimes having someone to witness what is happening or has happened can help you begin to lighten the load.
Making contact and joining a session.
You can contact me initially via email or phone message/call. You can tell me about what you would like support with and I can tell you a little more about how I can help. There is no obligation and you can take some time to decide if I am the right person for you.
When you join a session I will aim to provide a space where you can feel comfortable and as safe as possible. We will start wherever feels right for you. I will be alongside to bring some curiosity and support to connect to what is happening for you. A chance to let go of some things you may have been holding onto. To be really heard and discover what you need to be able to move forward. I will offer you a down to earth, compassionate approach.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
