UKCP - Registered MSc Psychotherapist

About me

As individuals our life experiences are unique and personal, and these experiences influence how we show up in all aspects of our lives. They contribute to how we communicate in relationships and how we think about ourselves and relate to those around us. Often these experiences can result in a positive view of self and fulfilling relationships, but what happens when they don’t?

When these experiences leave us feelings emotionally overwhelmed or disconnect, we may struggle communicating with our spouses, building meaningful relationships, questioning our worth, and searching for external validation to feel worthy. What is the solution?

As a Systemic & Family psychotherapist I am able to offer a safe space to explore and further understand how our personal experiences influence our mood, behaviours, connections and overall wellbeing.
Offering both individual and couples spaces, together we can work to establish what approach will support a further understanding of self or your relationship and how your experiences contribute to your interactions with others.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Systemic & Family Psychotherapist, with a background in mental health nursing. I have worked in the NHS for many years, which has provided me with the opportunity to hone my skills and enhance my ability to provide compassionate care to families, adults and young people.

My experiences have also equipped me with a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in working with, individuals, diverse family and relationship dynamics.

Specialisations:

Systemic Psychotherapy - Focuses on the interactions and relationships we have with others, and seeks to understand entrenched patterns, and the beliefs we may hold about ourselves as individuals.

Systemic Couples Therapy- Involves working with couples, and understanding the different expectations of a relationship in relation to family of origin, social systems and culture. These differences may manifest in challenges in communication, navigating conflict, and how individuals show up intimately and emotionally in the relationship.

EMDR - Is a proven therapy that can help the brain reprocess difficult memories to reduce the vividness and emotional responses associated with the memories. It is also widely used within the treatment of anxiety and phobia's.
