Lisa Woolfenden, Qualified Registered Counsellor, MBACP, Dip.Couns.
Hello, my name is Lisa, I’m a qualified registered counsellor based in Knutsford, Cheshire.
About counselling and how it can help:
Counselling offers you a safe space that is non-judgemental and confidential, where you can talk to someone impartial about what is troubling you in your life and by working together, can find solutions, new coping strategies and techniques which you can take away with you as life skills or 'a bag of tools'.
You will be listened to, heard and regarded and by working together will help identify your own resources and strengths. Having someone beside you to explore your thoughts, feelings or behaviours, unresolved issues, relationship dynamics or self-identify can offer comfort, new perspectives, clear thinking or positive changes.
Counselling provides an opportunity for you to gain a better understanding of yourself and gain a new perspective on your life situation. This space can help you find your way through difficult times you may be experiencing and by working together can bring a more positive outlook to your future and way of being.
About me and how I work:
To let you know a little about me, I have always worked in a caring role, with people being at the centre of what I do and have the belief that people are unique in themselves, their lives and experiences, no two being the same. I am passionate about what I do and feel privileged to work with people who come to me and allow and trust me to share their journey and experience.
I have a depth of experience working with emotional difficulties especially anxiety, depression, loss, change and choices, cancer and identity, as well as relationship issues, panic attacks, feeling overwhelmed or sad to name a few.
I am calm in presence, warm, approachable and provide you with a safe and comfortable space where you can talk about whatever you want to work through. I pride myself on being real, honest and deeply empathetic and able to work with you at your own pace.
I am proud to work on a voluntary basis at the Macmillan Resource Centre, NHS, Macclesfield Hospital counselling those affected by cancer; including patients and family members and how this has impacted on them in so many different ways.
Please feel free to call me to see how we can work together on whatever is happening in your life or to ask any questions you may have about counselling and how it may help. Just taking that one small step to help yourself takes courage and I am here to listen and work with you at this particular moment in your life.
