About me
Hi there, my name is Lisa and I generally work with survivors of rape and sexual abuse, my focus here is on the trauma, anxiety, depression and any other areas that is impacted. I am trauma informed and recognise the widespread impacts of trauma and PTSD. I also work in many other areas so whether its something specific or just the general weight of things we can work together to understand your experiences, develope healthier coping strategies, and help you move towards feeling more balanced and in control, I recognise how much courage it takes to reach out for support when fear or anxiety is present, and the fact that you are here is already a meaningful and positive step. I am a down-to-earth, warm and friendly person. I provide a safe space so you can be heard, understood and supported.
I work online throughout the UK and in person in the Liverpool area.
Training, qualifications & experience
I also offer Hypnotherapy and Rewind technique and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical framework for good practice. I create a confidential space, characterised by empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. My role is to not direct or diagnose, but to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences. My work is grounded in a Person - Centred approach, placing you at the heart of the counselling process, I believe that you are the expert in your own life.
I am committed to ethical reflective practice and provide a therapeutic environment that respects client autonomy. I work with adults seeking clarity, emotional support and personal growth. My approach is compassionate, practical, and tailored to each client's unique needs.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
