About me

As a Relationship & Individual therapist, with over 18 years of training and experience, I draw on a range of therapeutic interventions to help people who feel they are struggling to manage in some way, helping them to unravel and reflect on their situation; enabling them to find solutions and develop new coping strategies.

I specialise in working with Couples and Individuals focussing on communication, intimacy, infidelity, couple and personal growth. Together we will challenge the difficult issues and unhelpful patterns of behaviour that we can develop throughout our lives.

I understand how ‘life’ can impact our relationships with intimate partners, family and work colleagues and we can often feel unprepared or deskilled to manage them. I strongly believe in communication as the basis for fulfilling and satisfying relationships.  So, my aim is to help you identify, understand and manage issues and to bring an awareness to new perspectives and choices. I offer you a warm, non-judgemental and safe environment in which you can talk freely and work together to bring about realistic and lasting changes that are in your best interest and lead you to a healthier emotional life.

Finding the right therapist is the first step in helping to explore the issues and concerns that can weigh you down. It’s a therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, expertise and understanding – with your needs centre stage.

Training, qualifications & experience

Following a 15-year career in the film and corporate communications industry, I retrained and began training and working with Relate in the early 2020’s.  My training included an Advanced Diploma in Couple Counselling and a Masters in Relational Psychotherapy and Counselling.   Since then, I have worked for the past 7 years as a private practitioner working with couples and individuals.

Working effectively and ethically is important to me and as a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics.  My work is regularly supervised, and I keep up to date with developments in the therapeutic field. I regularly attend courses and other continued professional development training seminars to support my work as a therapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
