About me

Hi, I'm Lily. Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile!

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, so my aim is to provide a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Building a trusting relationship is at the heart of the way I work, allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for you.

As an integrative counsellor, I tailor each session to your individual needs. While my work is grounded in a person-centred approach, I also draw on CBT and Compassion-Focused Therapy where they may be helpful.

Life can feel overwhelming at times, but you don't have to face it alone. Whether you're looking for support with a specific challenge or simply need the space to make sense of what's going on, I'm here to listen with empathy and warmth, and without judgement. Together, we can work towards helping you feel more understood, confident and equipped to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Lily Phillips MBACP
  • MA Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist
  • Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
  • CPD Certificate in Counselling Children & Young People
  • Full Enhanced DBS Check

My counselling experience includes working with adults and young people aged 16+ from a wide range of backgrounds. I have supported clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-worth and self-esteem, loneliness, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and those navigating autism and ADHD. I believe that having a dedicated, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings with a counsellor can be incredibly beneficial. Feeling heard, understood and accepted is often the first step towards meaningful change.

While CBT and Compassion-Focused Therapy inform my practice, I use a person-centred, integrative approach, which simply means I will work in a way that suits you and your individual needs. I welcome people from all faiths, backgrounds, cultures and LGBTQIA+ communities with warmth, openness and a non-judgemental approach.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
